Keene State’s Alexis Gauthier was named Outstanding Athlete of the Meet at the ECAC Division III Championships Thursday at Southern Connecticut State University.
The sophomore won the heptathlon and the 100-meter hurdles, setting a Keene State record in the latter event.
Gauthier shattered the previous record of 15.14 seconds with a 15.01 mark in the preliminary round, then took the win with a time of 15.86 in the finals.
She won the heptathlon with 4,195 points. Among the seven events, she won the 100 hurdles (15.21), the high jump (1.51 meters) and the long jump (5.34), took second in the 200 dash (27.30), fourth in the 800 (two minutes, 35.18 seconds), fifth in the shot put (8.10) and sixth in the javelin (24.52).
Other individual winners for Keene State were Brittany Gravallese in the 800 (2:22.17), Lynne Hebert in the 1,500 (4:53.90) and Lauren Perkowski in the 5,000 (17:42.99).
The men’s team had no individual winners, but the 4x400 relay team of Brandon Castor, Anthony Jennings, Clinton Mungeta and Alex Medina finished second at 3:24.
The women’s team took second in the team scores at 66, while the men finished 14th with 25.
