Keene State freshman Joey Fodor finished 15th in the javelin at the NCAA Division III outdoor track and field championships Thursday at the University of Mount Union in Geneva, Ohio.
His mark of 55.60 meters was best among three freshmen qualifiers. Jordan Entwistle of UMass Dartmouth won the event qwith a throw of 64.27.
Fodor this season earned All-Little East Conference honors and All-New England accolades by placing seventh at the New England Division III Championships. His distance at that event was 54.10.
Molloy honorable mention in lacrosse
Recent Keene State graduate and men’s lacrosse standout Charles Molloy IV was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, it was announced Wednesday.
Molloy finished his career as one of the most decorated defenders in Owls history. He was Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-LEC in his junior and senior seasons, and was named the conference tournament’s Most Outstanding Player in 2018.
He ranks second all-time in program history in caused turnovers (83) and eighth in ground balls (166). He became the seventh Keene State player to be named an Honorable Mention All-American.
Franklin Pierce’s Roberto recognized
Franklin Pierce baseball senior Brad Roberto was selected to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-East Region Second Team, it was announced Thursday. Teams are selected by media members and sports information directors from each of Division II’s eight regions.
For Roberto, it marked his second All-Region selection of the spring; he also landed on the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-East Region Second Team earlier this month. He was also an All-Northeast-10 Conference First Team selection.
The outfielder played all 53 games for the Ravens, and led the Northeast-10 Conference in walks (47) and hits (68).
