Eric Narcisi, a resident of North Andover, Mass., led wire-to-wire from Congress Street to Marcy Street and won the annual early summer trek through downtown Portsmouth known as the Market Square Day 10K in 34 minutes, 12 seconds.

Brie Boden of Massachusetts, a Keene High School graduate who ran cross country at the University of New Hampshire, was the female runner-up, in 38:42.

Narcisi led the 1,200-plus runners up Congress Street at the gun and never really had a running mate.

Portsmouth’s John Corona was the runner-up in 34:19, and Christopher Dunn of Kennebunk, Maine, was third in 34:23.

The female champ was Farmington’s Corey Dowe in 36:41, a time that placed her 16th overall. She’s been gearing up for the August Beach to Beacon 10K in Maine and said wanted to use Saturday’s race as a barometer. Manchester’s Jill Garrity was third, in 39:41.
