Franklin Pierce senior left fielder Brad Roberto and junior pitcher Derek Duffy were selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-East Region Second Team, it was announced earlier this week. The ABCA All-Region teams are selected by baseball coaches within each of Division II’s eight regions.

For Roberto, it marked his third All-Region selection of the spring, as he also landed on the Division II Conference Commissioners Association and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-East Region Second Teams earlier this month. As a result, he is now a consensus All-East Region Second Team selection, having earned the honor from all three groups which award it. Roberto was also an All-Northeast-10 Conference First Team selection.

For Duffy, it marked his first career All-Region selection. He was an All-NE10 Second Team selection as well.

Roberto started all 53 games in the outfield for the Ravens, and led the NE10 in walks (47) and hits (68). Duffy made 10 appearances on the mound, including nine starts, and led the nation in walks allowed per nine innings (0.72) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (13.4) while ranking third in the NE10 in ERA (1.59).
