Franklin Pierce Athletic Director Rachel Burleson announced Wednesday the hiring of Hilary Duda as the head coach of the women’s lacrosse team.

A four-time all-conference selection during her playing days at Division II Regis University (Colo.), Duda makes her head coaching debut as the Ravens’ seventh head coach.

“Becoming a head coach has been my dream ever since I started coaching,” Duda said. “I am so honored that Rachel Burleson has chosen me. ... My goal is to create a culture that will allow us to succeed and be competitive within the Northeast-10 Conference.”

Duda worked as a graduate assistant coach at her alma mater at Regis in 2017 — helping the Rangers win the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference title and qualify for the NCAA Championship for the first time — then spent two years as an assistant coach at Northern Michigan University, joining the program in just its second season and helping the Wildcats to their first playoff berth in 2019.

Franklin Pierce is coming off three straight losing seasons (most recently a 6-10 campaign in 2019) and has made the Northeast-10 Tournament just once this decade. The Ravens played with a young squad this past season, and didn’t lose a player to graduation.
