The following is a letter that will be before the City Council soon. I am sending it in to The Sentinel as a letter to the editor now just as public information.

To Mayor Lane and the City Council, This letter is regarding parking meter money collected on the free parking days during the holidays.

My hope is that money, as a show of good will, and to show that Keene is honest, will be returned to the people who patronized businesses in Keene.

How can that be done? I have a thought of one way.

Take that money and give it, as a donation, to “Robin Hood of Keene.”

That would be a very direct way of getting that money to the people who mistakenly paid meters when they were free.
