BRATTLEBORO — Police are asking drivers to be patient and expect delays when traveling through downtown today, as two construction projects are expected to snarl traffic.
There will be alternating one-way traffic in the area of the Boys and Girls Club on Flat Street, as a new water line is being installed for the upcoming Snow Block construction, according to a Brattleboro Police Department news release.
The construction work is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic flow in the area, and bus routes and stops aren’t expected to be affected, the release says.
The second project will involve sidewalk construction on Elliot Street, according to the release.
The north-side sidewalk between the Harmony lot and Taylor for Flowers will be closed during the work, which is scheduled to be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., the release says.
Traffic flow will remain two-way, but drivers should expect occasional delays as equipment moves in and out of the area, according to the release.
The ability of town emergency services to access Flat and Elliot streets won’t be affected by the projects, police said.
