A three-car crash on West Street in Keene Tuesday evening left a Toyota SUV tipped over on its side. The vehicle’s driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Keene police.

One person was taken to the hospital after a rollover crash in Keene Tuesday evening.

The three-car crash left a red Toyota SUV tipped over on its side in the middle of West Street, in front of TD Bank.

The SUV’s driver, Terry Mitchell, 71, of Keene, was taken to the hospital as a precaution, Keene police Sgt. Thaddeus “T.J.” Derendal said Wednesday morning. None of the occupants of the other vehicles were injured.

Derendal said two vehicles, a 2005 Toyota sedan and a 2011 Mitsubishi SUV, had stopped parallel to each other in the two eastbound lanes of West Street. Mitchell’s vehicle, coming from behind, hit the sedan, glanced off it, hit the Mitsubishi and then flipped over onto its side, coming to rest in the middle of the road, Derendal said.

A section of West Street was closed as police worked to clean up the roadway. The crash was reported around 6:20 p.m.
