Washington Street crash

Rescue personnel respond to a head-on crash on Washington Street in Keene Tuesday afternoon.

Three people were injured in a head-on collision Tuesday afternoon on Washington Street in Keene, according to police.

Michael Iselin, 72, of Nelson was driving a 1985 Mercury station wagon south on Washington Street when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a 2010 Nissan Versa, according to Keene police Lt. Shane C. Maxfield. The Nissan was driven by Deane Ellsworth, 74, of Bellows Falls, Maxfield said.

Iselin, Ellsworth and Ellsworth’s passenger, Amy Ellsworth, 70, also of Bellows Falls, were taken by ambulance to Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene. They complained of head, neck and chest discomfort, Maxfield said.

The crash was reported shortly before 3 p.m. Both vehicles were towed.
