MARLBOROUGH — A vehicle struck a moose Monday evening on Route 124, the second such collision in the area in recent weeks, according to police.
Neither that crash, nor a previous one a few weeks ago on Route 101 in Dublin, caused serious injury to a human, the Marlborough Police Department said in a post on its Facebook page. Both moose were killed.
The department’s Facebook post warns that moose are “generally unpredictable” but most active at night, dawn and dusk. Any motorists who see deer or moose on the side of the road should slow down significantly, as the animals could move into the roadway.
The Facebook post does not contain further details about the crashes, and Marlborough police were not reachable for comment this morning.
