GILSUM — A truck pulled down wires on Route 10 Monday afternoon, resulting in a road closure and power outage affecting hundreds of customers, according to Eversource.
Crews from the power company responded to the outage a little before 4:30 p.m., Eversource spokeswoman Kaitlyn Woods said in an email. About 700 customers were affected, and power was restored to them within about 45 minutes, she said.
A photo from the scene shows a utility pole splintered near the base and leaning out across the road.
“A dump truck caught a communications line and that stress snapped our pole,” Woods said. The outage was required for safety during repairs, she added.
