The N.H. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled the death of a man found in Beaver Brook Saturday an accidental drowning.

Keene police identified the man this morning as Richard Oliver, age 59. Oliver is believed to have been homeless, police said.

The brook in the area behind Beaver Street Market, where the man was found, is between 2 and 3 feet deep and about 14 feet wide, the office said.

Keene police said it appears Oliver had fallen in the brook, possibly on Friday night. He likely died sometime Friday, the medical examiner's office said, and the autopsy was performed Monday.

Results from a toxicology analysis that is being performed will take about three months.
