A Keene State College student faces a felony charge of reckless conduct, accused of throwing beer bottles into a crowd of young people gathered on Blake Street during the recent riots on the day of the Keene Pumpkin Festival.

James A. Schaefer 3rd, 18, of Center Moriches, N.Y., turned himself in to Keene police after a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to police.

Schaefer is accused of placing others in danger of serious bodily injury by throwing the bottles, according to police.

Keene police Lt. Steven M. Stewart said this morning police plan to make more arrests today in connection with the incidents that broke out on the outskirts of the 24th annual Pumpkin Festival on Oct. 18 and Oct. 19.

Schaefer was released on $5,000 personal recognizance and is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 9 in 8th Circuit Court District Division in Keene.
