BRATTLEBORO — A Vermont man was charged with driving under the influence after a head-on collision between his vehicle and a tractor-trailer early Tuesday morning that shut down a street for about three hours, according to police.

Aliester Sibilia, 40, of Shaftsbury was also charged with gross negligent operation, according to a news release from the Brattleboro Police Department. Brattleboro police Sgt. Greg Eaton said Sibilia was driving a 2016 Buick Verano.

Brattleboro police and fire departments, along with Rescue Inc., responded to the scene on Marlboro Road at around 1:30 a.m., the release said.

No one was injured in the crash, according to police, but both vehicles were heavily damaged and towed from the scene.

Sibilia is scheduled to appear June 4 in Windham Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Brattleboro, the release said.
