Keene officials want to hear your opinions on housing in the Elm City.
A two-hour workshop scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Heberton Hall in the Keene Public Library will give residents the chance to offer input on Keene’s residential market and future housing needs.
“This will be an open house forum with casual conversations with community members, city staff, and the consultants supporting this effort,” a notice on the city’s website reads.
The city’s effort to craft a housing strategy comes amid mounting scarcity and rising costs for homes and rental units in Keene and beyond.
Wednesday’s event is set to feature a brief presentation at 6 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session. Officials will use input from the meeting to help develop a housing strategy for the city.
The city is also seeking feedback through its Housing Resiliency Survey. Results will help guide the city’s future action on housing issues, according to the online notice. The survey, which takes about 10 minutes to complete, is open through Feb. 17. Responses will remain anonymous.
