State health officials Thursday announced the COVID-related death of another Cheshire County resident, one of four more deaths reported statewide.
The local woman was 60 or older, as were women from Hillsborough and Rockingham counties whose deaths were reported Thursday. A male resident of Merrimack County who also died was younger than 60.
This brings Cheshire County’s death toll from the virus to 78, according to state statistics.
As of Thursday morning, 211,952 people statewide had tested positive for COVID-19, according to the latest data available from the N.H. Department of Health and Human Services. About 92 percent of them — 194,998 people — had recovered whereas the deaths of about 1 percent — 2,017 people — had been attributed to the disease.
Health officials were aware of 14,937 active cases of COVID-19 in the state, 601 of them in Cheshire County.
