SWANZEY — The Golden Rod Grange #114 on Route 32 in will be open to the public on Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The grange is a two-story wood frame building built in 1916 and is one of the cluster of late 19th and early 20th century buildings that make up Swanzey’s center.

Also on May 18, the Swanzey Preservation Society is planning a range of activities with a focus on farming, nature and the environment. Some of the activities include a gardening and pollinator table, farming and tractors, history tours, raffles and games; also, a coloring contest and a pie eating contest.

Cheshire Horse will be there with little chicks, the Monadnock Regional High School Interact club members will offer face-painting, and Keene Lion’s Club members will be selling Duck Race entries as part of one of its signature community fundraising events. Check the club’s Facebook page for more details.
