Game Notes:

The Huskies extended their win streak to three.

This was Monadnock’s first shutout win of the year.

This marked the Huskies’ second win over the Vikings, after beating them 5-2 in their April 10 season opener. Dodd pitched a complete game in that contest as well, giving up three hits and three walks while striking out 10.

Monadnock played without shortstop/pitcher Connor Branon, who got hit in the face with a line drive in Monday’s win at Newport. Putnam filled in at shortstop, while Morrell played second base.

Quote of the Day:

“The guys stepped up. Joey Morrell at second did a great job for us today; Kevin Putnam moved to shortstop, he did a great job; Matt Dodd pitched very well and we hit the ball very well. It was all-around a great ballgame.”

— Jim St. Laurent, Monadnock Coach
