Support the girls

Tamara Woodard, owner of Underneath It All in Peterborough, recently donated hundreds of items to a women’s support organization.

After a recent sale at Peterborough lingerie shop Underneath It All, owner Tamara Woodard contacted Cathy Washburn, an affiliate Director of I SUPPORT THE GIRLS, and asked if she was accepting donations.

“Cathy was so appreciative,” said Woodard. “This organization is nationwide and works with Battered Womens’ Shelters, Homeless Women and many other support groups that assist girls and women. They supply undergarments and personal hygiene products as needed ... and the need everywhere is great.”

Woodard itemized discontinued styles, various sample pieces, slow sellers and leftovers from her recent sale. Everything was brand new. Washburn filled 29 large bags with more than 1,000 items, including bras, shape-wear, panty hose and panties.

“There are so many girls and women, young and older, who do not have the means to care for themselves or purchase basic personal products. I’m hoping this will help,” said Woodard.

I SUPPORT THE GIRLS benefits girls and women who are experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, sex trafficking or who are evacuees.

Woodard, on behalf of I SUPPORT THE GIRLS, is accepting used bras that no longer fit or have been forgotten in bureau drawers. Drop offs at Underneath It All will also receive 10 percent off on a new bra purchase.
