Craig Fraley of Peterborough was recently named the newest board member of the Friends of Sargent, a nonprofit organization that supports the Sargent Center, an outdoor education facility in Hancock.
Both professionally and personally, Fraley has been involved with camping, outdoor recreation and the Sargent Center for more than three decades, according to a news release.
He began working at Sargent Camp in 2001 as the ropes course coordinator. After that first summer, he completed his bachelor’s degree in outdoor education from the University of New Hampshire and took the year-round position at Sargent Camp of assistant adventure camp coordinator. He was tasked with all aspects of the Adventure Camp program including camper and staff recruitment, staff training, trip and program planning, as well as day-to-day operations. He lived and worked at Sargent Camp until 2004.
Since leaving Sargent Camp, Fraley has worked in the field of parks and recreation, where he has run day camps and other community programs. He is currently the Parks and Recreation Director of Amherst, N.H.
Fraley lives in Peterborough with his wife, Nicola, and their two children, Ben and Kate.
