Monadnock Humane Society (MHS) hosted its annual meeting and awards ceremony at Stonewall Farm in Keene on Nov. 27.
The evening included the annual presentation of awards for volunteer and employee of the year. This year’s honorees were chosen from among dozens of nominations submitted by co-workers and MHS volunteers, with the final selection made by committees composed of MHS staff, volunteers and former award recipients.
Robin Eichert of Jaffrey was named 2018 volunteer of the year. Eichert takes care of the animals at the shelter, helps with staff development, works on the HIVE (High Impact Volunteer Engagement) team and organizes teams for the Walk for Animals. She was chosen for giving unselfishly of her time and her passion for community outreach.
Bethany King of Keene was named 2018 Employee of the Year. King, MHS Boarding/Daycare Coordinator. King was honored for her passion, positive attitude, and eye for improvement. She helped implement one of MHS’ newest programs, Puppy Play School, and has contributed to MHS’ social media presence.
Monadnock Humane Society is a private, nonprofit organization that serves the Monadnock Region, which includes 44 towns. MHS cares for an average of 1,400 animals each year with a staff of 28 and the help of over 200 volunteers.
