The Monadnock Food Co-op in Keene will host a free in-person workshop called “First Feast” on Wednesday, Nov. 10, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The workshop will be presented by Michele Chalice, a regenerative environmental landscape designer and owner of healthyhomehabitats.com.

Chalice will discuss how to plant deer-resistant spring-flowering bulbs as well as native, ephemeral plants that provide early nectar and pollen to native bumblebees. Participants can experiment with various tools used to plant bulbs and tiny plant tubers and learn how to protect them from squirrels.

Masks are required.
