Shoppers at the Monadnock Food Co-op collectively donated $6,032.74 to Food Connects, a non-profit organization that delivers locally produced food.

The donations were collected throughout August, during the food co-op’s month-long “Round It Up” donation drive.

“Food Connects is incredibly inspired and grateful for the outpouring of community support,” Richard Berkfield, executive director and founder of Food Connects, said in a statement. “We recognize the need for robust Farm to School programs throughout the region to help our children thrive and grow. Our community stepped up to nourish these programs in a big way, and we are so excited for the potential growth and future projects we want to bring to the Monadnock Region.” For information on Food Connects, go to foodconnects.org.

Monadnock Food Co-op’s September donation drive benefits the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Hampshire (NOFA-NH) Farm Share Program.

During the co-op’s last fiscal year, the Round It Up program raised more than $65,864 and supported 10 organizations.

The Monadnock Food Co-op is at 34 Cypress St. in Keene. Information: monadnockfood.coop.
