To mark the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the Keene Public Library will present Anne Nelson’s “The Guys” on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m., performed by The Edge Ensemble Theater Company.

“The Guys,” written and performed just weeks after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center, brings together two characters who otherwise would never have met — Joan, an editor (played by Kenzie Yelin), and Nick, a New York City fire captain (played by Mark DiPietro) — as they tell the stories of several firefighters presumed dead in the rubble of the Twin Towers.

The Edge Ensemble’s production of “The Guys,” directed by Kim Dupuis, will be performed in the library’s Heberton Hall. After the show, audience members can view the poster exhibit, “September 11, 2001: The Day That Changed the World.” The exhibition explores the consequences of terrorism on individual lives and communities at the local, national and international levels. The poster exhibition was developed by the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and has been made possible in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities: Democracy Demands Wisdom.
