The Monadnock Food Co-op Board of Directors named Jack Dugan the 2021 Cooperator of the Year during its annual meeting on Oct. 16.
“Jack Dugan, retired President of Monadnock Economic Development Corporation, had a huge impact on the development and success of our Co-op going back to 2010 when our Co-op was looking for a site to open our start-up Co-op,” said Michael Faber, Monadnock Food Co-op General Manager. “He connected us to critical resources and provided financing to help construct our store, which later opened in 2013. More recently, he had a pivotal role in supporting our expansion, helping us overcome obstacles and expand into an adjacent vacant lot.”
The Monadnock Food Coop’s Cooperator of the Year Award is given out annually to recognize a member-owner, vendor, staff member or co-op partner who exemplifies cooperative values integral to cooperatives worldwide. These values include self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, solidarity, honesty, social responsibility, openness and caring for others.
