The Historical Society of Cheshire County, 246 Main St., Keene, is hosting its annual book sale today through Friday, May 13. Members of the historical society and the community helped collect more than 9,500 used books for the fundraising sale.

The sale features an exclusive preview opportunity today with time slots from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. ($20); 1-2:30 p.m. ($10); and 2:30-4 p.m. ($5). Visit the society’s website at for information and to purchase tickets.

The sale will be open with no charge for admission on Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon and May 10-13 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. (May 12 open to 8 p.m.). A limited number of customers will be admitted to the sale at any one time. Most books are priced at $1 and the proceeds will support the society’s programs to collect, preserve and communicate the history of the county. The books will cover topics such as history, biography, elementary education, self help, antiques, art, architecture, cookbooks, travel, fiction, children’s books and much more.
