A celebration of nonprofit organizations will be held next month.
Last year, Robin Eichert, founder of PeopleSense Consulting in Jaffrey, started the annual event when she celebrated her dog, Grace’s, birthday in a very special way. Grace was rescued as a pup from the streets of Puerto Rico by a nonprofit agency. To honor the spirit of generosity and kindness that saved Grace, Eichert launched the Graceful Giving Campaign.
The campaign takes place throughout October, Grace’s birthday month. But instead of gifts for Grace, donors contribute any amount to show their appreciation and support for many of the region’s nonprofit organizations.
Six nonprofit groups are participating in this year’s campaign, and each has chosen a specific item from their wish list for which to raise funds. For example, Cedarcrest Center for Children with Disabilities will be raising money to purchase a handheld capnograph, a non-invasive device that can tell if a child is breathing effectively. Other examples of wish list items include scholarship funding and an educational activity bench. All are listed on PeopleSenseConsulting.com/gracefulgiving2017.
In addition to Cedarcrest, Arts Alive!, Community Volunteer Transportation Company, Keene Family YMCA, Monadnock Humane Society and New Hampshire Coalition to End Homelessness are participating.
At the end of the month, the nonprofit group with the largest number of donors will win the grand prize: an exclusive, half-day team-building workshop titled, “Graceful Leadership: Building Respectful Relationships.” The workshop is valued at $1,800.
One lucky donor who participates in Graceful Giving will also be chosen at random to win $100 in cash.
