Fox stroll

A gray fox strolls across the grass in Westmoreland on April 18. It’s a rare sight to see an adult fox roaming about in daylight, said photographer Richard Schmidt, and people should stay away as a precaution. The gray fox is primarily nocturnal or crepuscular, meaning it’s active around dawn and dusk. As an omnivore, it seeks a wide variety of things to eat, including rabbits, rodents, insects and fruit.
