Assuming the mantle from the company’s founder, the longtime vice president of IPG Employee Benefits has been named president.

John A. Round takes over the top spot from Walter H. Rohr, who launched the Keene-based employee-benefits consulting firm in 1985, IPG announced in recent news release. Rohr will remain with the firm, continuing his work with clients and community support, the release notes.

Round joined the company in 1996 and founded and developed its Flexible Benefit Services Division.

He holds a degree from Dartmouth College and is active in the community. He is the operations committee chairman and a board member for Monadnock Family Services and serves on the Cheshire Medical Center board of directors. He is also a past chairman of the boards of The Colonial Theatre, Monadnock Waldorf School and RiverMead Inc. in Peterborough.
