The Monadnock United Way has a new administrative assistant.
Shirley English joined the staff of the Keene-based agency recently, according to a news release. English has been a longtime United Way volunteer, the release notes, and joins the agency after serving as the alumni relations manager at New England College in Henniker.
English has more than a decade of experience in volunteer management, fundraising and relationship building, according to the release. She holds a Master of Business Administration in leadership from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge.
“We are so happy to have Shirley on our MUW team,” Monadnock United Way President Liz LaRose said in the release. “Her knowledge of our organization through her time volunteering with us is a huge benefit. And her background in relationship management and fundraising makes her a perfect fit.”
English and her husband, Whit, have four children and two granddaughters. They live in Keene with their dog and three cats.
Monadnock United Way is a nonprofit organization that distributes funds to other nonprofit groups working locally in one of its three areas of focus: children, education and financial stability.
