The other nine finalists are Chopwood Mercantile, Crested Butte, Co.; Grubbly Farms, Atlanta; Hobby Prodigy, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Legend Acres, Stewart, Tenn.; NoBull Burger, Charlottesville, Va.; Pumphouse Creamery, Minneapolis, Minn.; Re.dwell, Grand Rapids, Mich.; RUIN Skateshop, Chamblee, Ga.; and Sugar Beet Food Co-op, Chicago.
“These businesses exemplify the qualities we were looking to celebrate — they are B Corporations, creative and committed composters, out-of-the-box thinkers, farm-to-table innovators, recyclers and upcyclers — all of whom are focused on sustainability, environmental responsibility, and community leadership,” said David Rachelson, Rubicon’s vice president of sustainability, in a news release. Rubicon works with businesses on finding efficiencies and cost savings in their waste streams and on new ways to reduce, reuse and recycle materials, according to the release.
