Rev. Diana McLean was installed as settled minister of the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church on May 7.

McLean was called to serve by a unanimous vote of the congregation in June 2016 and began her ministry in Peterborough in August. The installation recognizes that a minister has been called to a particular congregation, and therefore the celebration on May 7 was an important event in the history of the church.

A nearly lifelong Unitarian Universalist, McLean was an active member of congregations in Nebraska, Georgia, Washington and Colorado. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Naropa University and a Master’s of Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver. Prior to answering the call to ministry, she worked in writing, education and administration.

From 2005 to 2011 she was a regular guest preacher for the North Idaho Unitarian Universalists. She served as ministerial intern at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder, Colo., from August 2014 through June 2015, and then served as that congregation’s summer minister until August 2015. In the 2015-16 church year, she served as ministerial resident on the shared ministerial team for Foothills Unitarian Church in Fort Collins, Colo., and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greeley, Colo.
