On Oct. 8 at 12:45 a.m., a boy, Henry Thomas Van, was born at Birth Cottage in Salem, to Billie-Jean Greene and Richard Van of Greenfield. The newborn weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 20 inches.

The baby joins a sibling, Frances Van, 3. The maternal grandparents are Rhea and Thomas Greene of Queensbury, N.Y., and the paternal grandmother is JoAnn Van of Tacoma, Wash.
