  • From sports and the arts to politics and profiles, Steve Gilbert has been writing about people in the Monadnock Region for almost 25 years. Steve and his wife, Sara, moved to Keene in 1987 and found the perfect place to raise their family. He loves the outdoors and never tires of the four seasons, but put him in a ballpark on a summer evening and everything is right with the world.

  • Chris Bosak loves to share and hear stories about nature. To that end, he has written his weekly For the Birds column since 1999. For the Birds is about appreciating New England's wild birds and other natural resources. Chris worked in the Keene Sentinel sports department from 1996 to 1999. It was during that time that For the Birds got its start. Chris now lives in southern Connecticut with his wife, Katie, and two children, Andrew and Will.

  • Our resident Cajun, sports editor David Lanier loves covering and writing about sports in New England as much he loves eating crawfish. He has been in Keene for more than a decade -- the longest stop of a nomadic journalism career that began in 1988 in his home state of Louisiana. David is a mad LSU fan, of course, and also loves his Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Cardinals and pitching wedge.

  • Paul Miller manages the daily operations of the newsroom and sentinelsource.com, the paper’s online version, and is responsible for the direction, standards and policies of the news operation, as well as their implementation. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but grew up in Keene and raised a family here. He has two adult children. Despite those roots, he’s a N.Y. Yankees fan. He enjoys hiking, exercising, good times with good friends, the ocean and traveling. He is a former high school basketball coach and confesses to an unashamed, fortunate-to-still-be-married golf addiction.

  • A native of Atlanta, Bill Starr spent careers in journalism and literary work before retiring to New Hampshire. The author of three nonfiction books, he was a prize-winning newspaper editor and writer in Georgia and South Carolina whose columns on literature and classical music were syndicated nationally. He also directed the Georgia Center for the Book to a series of nationally acclaimed literary programs and created successful book festivals in his home states.

  • Dr. Owen Houghton is a geriatric consultant and Past Chair of the State Committee on Aging. He focuses on issues of aging well and finds that writing a monthly "Age-Wise" column helps him take his own advice to keep his mind alert as an active elder. A former Dean of Students at Franklin Pierce College and avid golfer, he continues to coach the Franklin Pierce golf team after 23 years. His current volunteer activity is helping start the non-profit Monadnock at Home village network in the eastern Monadnock area.

  • Bob Vecchiotti is a business psychologist who is a trusted adviser and coach to executives in companies large and small. He practices in Peterborough.   • I have been writing In The Garden column since June of 1991. I love gardening both inside and out. Sharing my garden experiences with others is a great pleasure. The responses to the column have been positive and numerous. I have been a member of The Old Homestead Garden Club for over 30 years and their Horticulture Chairman almost 30 years.
