Surry Mountain Lake to remain closed this season

SURRY — Surry Mountain Lake's 2013 summer season is the latest victim of flooding rains that soaked the region earlier this summer.

Park Ranger John Asseng said Friday that while the lake's water level has gone down significantly from earlier this month, the Army Corps of Engineers has decided not to open the lake's recreation area this season.
