You can’t really miss them as you approach Central Square from downtown Keene. They come daily about noon, three or four of people holding anti-violence signs while holding court with passersby, police, parking enforcement officers, anyone who wants to talk.
Some drivers lean on their horns in support as they circle the Square. Some curse. Some give them the finger. Most don’t react beyond a stare although on Friday one motorist continually shouted, “I love guns! I love guns!” in response to a sign Jeff Scott held protesting the National Rifle Association’s drive against gun control.
