MARLBOROUGH — Police are investigating a car crash Wednesday on Webb Depot Road and searching for one of the car’s occupants.

A silver Subaru Legacy smashed into a tree on the side of Webb Depot Road, with one of the male occupants on the ground outside the car when police arrived, said Marlborough Police Chief Christopher J. Lyons. It was unclear when the accident happened, Lyons said.

The man was conscious and taken to the hospital, Lyons said.

A thermal imaging camera used by the Marlborough Fire Department found the car had three people in it, and later police determined all three were male.

Two of the men took off after the crash; one found help a short distance away and was taken to the hospital, while the other is still missing, Lyons said.

Multiple police agencies are assisting Marlborough police in scouting the area near Route 12 for the missing man, including N.H. State Police, the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Department, and Swanzey and Troy police.

The main concern is that the man is injured, Lyons said.
