Julien “Balou” Gonthier, the Canadian truck driver who was killed in a rollover crash in Bennington Wednesday, was a hardworking family man and volunteer firefighter, his sister said.
Gonthier, 52, was from a small Canadian town in Quebec called St. Adalbert, just over the Maine border, his sister Susan Gonthier said in an interview. He worked as a truck driver for more than 20 years, most recently with the Quebec-based company Transport St-Pamphile Inc. His driving route included parts of New England and New York state.
